The Galapagos Islands
The isolated Galapagos Islands sit scattered within the Pacific Ocean, almost 600 miles off the coast of Ecuador. From lava-encrusted landscapes to palmy beaches and cactus forests, the natural design of each island is a unique delight. If you’re looking to visit a South American paradise, the Galapagos Islands never disappoint.

Known for their rich flora and fauna, these unspoiled volcanic lands are home to a wealth of exotic wildlife. The animals here live peacefully, undisturbed within their natural habitat, astounding visitors with their fearless nature.
An abundance of birds, including hawks, frigate birds and finches grace the cloudless blue skies. Here, you see the varied wildlife soar above and sometimes even approach you on land, allowing for incredible, close encounters. Watch sea lions laze across white sands, and see marine iguanas go about their daily business. Marvel at the giant tortoises, endemic to the Seychelles and the Galapagos Islands.
One of the best ways to see as much of the Galapagos is to go about the islands by boat. A Galapagos cruise allows holidaymakers to hop between islands and absorb the array of awe-inspiring natural wonders, including the diverse terrains and mesmerising wildlife.
Boat excursions do most of their travelling overnight, so you can begin exploring straight after breakfast. There will be excursions twice a day with tours allowing you to take part in kayaking or snorkeling adventures , as well as on-land pursuits. Go on a trail walk through the National Park, and absorb fascinating facts about the history and geography of the islands as you listen to your expert Galapagos National Park guide.

Sitting right on the equator, the Galapagos Islands boast a beautiful year-round climate, warming the waters perfectly for snorkelers. Of course, sea temperatures vary, providing divers with the chance to come up close to the mighty marine animals that live here.
The Pacific is a perfect spot for ocean explorers, and over 400 species of marine life swim freely in its surrounding waters. Whether deep sea diving or snorkelling, you’re likely to encounter turtles, schools of bright-coloured fish and rays. Sharks, whales, and dolphins also frequent the Galapagos waters, creating an enchanting atmosphere, no matter how you choose to experience it.

If you’d prefer to keep your feet firmly on the ground, rather than boarding on a boat, you can book a stay at an island camp. Alternatively, lodges provide an ideal base from which to take day trips and discover the area at your leisure.
Whether you visit by boat or stay on shore a little while longer, the Galapagos Islands promise true tranquillity.
The Galapagos Islands has so much to offer that it would be hard to list it all here. But as someone who knows about this stunning country, I’m here to ensure that your next holiday is one you remember forever. For help planning your perfect trip, please call Nelkin Bespoke Travel on
